Manerba Stronghold
The path leading to the Manerba Stronghold starts from the visitor centre, where you can visit the Museum of the Parco della Rocca and see multimedia reconstructions of the archaeological areas. The museum develops in two paths divided on two floors: the archaeological route showing the succession of settlements on the territory on the ground floor and the naturalistic path exposing the flora and fauna on the first floor. Walk in the trail to reach the top of the hill where you can find the excavations of an ancient Roman villa and where you can admire a spectacular view over Lake of Garda; you can even see the entire lake, from Desenzano to Riva del Garda depending on the weather. Continue along the trail running along the cliff overlooking the lake, where you will see other evidences of the past including a curious turret which was used as an observation and detection point for seaplane speed tests in the 1930s.
